April 2010 Entries

If you have made DESIGNER frames, then you will know what this blog entry is all about.

This morning I received a lovely package from my workshop.  It was some of the new Limited Edition frames I've designed.  They are really really fantastic.  My photos don't show you how great they are (since my photoshoot lasted 15 seconds) so I thought I'd put a little love and emotion in to the scene.

You can use my templates to design with yourself at Design School in London.  Or, if you can't make it.... I can arrange to send some with your rep!

Designing your own frames is about as much fun as you can have in Optics.

What do you think of these?

This is a window display, it is supposed to be semi permanent.  I could use a little feedback, since it is rather expensive.

Below is a cabinet which I've been thinking about for .... hmmm, about 5 years.  It has a touch screen build in (or without if you prefer) and would either look like the unit below or the one at the bottom (so you can put your Bespoke cabinet under it)

The cost would be some £1500, so it is not cheap, but would be fantastic quality and a great selling point for Bespoke.

This is still at the concept stage.  I'd really like some feedback on what you all think.  Good or bad!

Most people who know my eyewear ideals, will know that I do not like spring hinges. I have always said that it is a compensation for a bad fit.  However, 7 years on and I'm fed up of being asked for frames with sprung joints. Something tells me my customers want a spring hinge.

So glory behold..... my T Joint..... with a spring in it.

I am getting a prototype in a few weeks.  Now for a barrage of complaints about snapped spring hinges (caused mostly by people down the pub showing off springy temples to their mates!
